i like the bamboo thing (ohhh, why didn't i think of that?) perhaps you can massage it a bit in photoshop to make it more recognizable as bamboo? kahit outline lang then fill out with those colors or brownish. wood effect might even suggest AK wood furniture.

also parang masyadong magulo ung pagakyat ng "AK." imho, mas maganda yata na diretso lang.

bosing, can i have a copy of the salakot image? i'll see if i can whip up another version for brainstorming purposes.

here's something i tried



name done with bamboo pics. hindi ko tinuloy (that's why the "airsoft" part is in a different font) dahil it looks too "busy" for me. parang masyadong maraming elements. pag sinubukan ko naman ung outline lang copied from Kom Yarik's version parang feeling ko "scary movie."

also tried bamboo fonts but the best ones are for paid downloading so deadend dun

overall, i think i like the original and much simpler name logo. or maybe just the "AK" part rendered in bamboo. with that we will have three components to signify RP: the flag AK, bamboo AK name, and the salakot.

these are just my own comments. cards on the table and no hard feelings please, ok?

let me know what you think. maybe i should try something else?

all png files, salakot image still not satisfactory.

overall, i think versions are a little better than the original ones. all images have been stroked so they will stand out from any background color. relational sizes and placements of the logo components can easily be manipulated cos i've saved the psd files so don't hedge on your suggestions

the color combination of fonts and location of "salakot"...
outline maybe replace to white...not to merged the background...

so i came up na why not the AK(RP Flag)background, the Bamboo AK font and the "salakot" combination...or even without "salakot"
problem with my copy of "salakot" diko makita ang original files na hi-res...
hanapin ko muna kom zT.

dito naman kay kom yarik...

ok din ang letter "K" na nai-aligned nya sa magazine...kaya lang medyo mataas... at saka "bloody'' and dating...

understand, bosing. kaya lang, parang bubuyog sa bungo ko ung idea so hindi ako mapakali hanggang di ko nakikita sa screen ung ideya so . . . .

all png files. main difference with previous is that bamboo AK and the AK flag have been sharpened to bring out the grain of the bamboo, and the yellow rays and star in the flag. the folding stock has also been cut out para mas lumabas ung FIL from the background.

ung version 3, aligned ang bottom ng lahat ng elements. ung 3a at 3b medyo itinaas ko ung AK flag -- parang mas dynamic sila tingnan keysa sa 3 kasi parang kabayong tumatalon ung AK flag

tingin ko puede ngang walang salakot (tx for image, bosing :--> ). however, design-wise, the salakot in the foreground ties together all the elements of the logo. without it, parang biyak ung AK word kahit tied together sya by the AK flag in the background -- para bang lusutan ung image

with the salakot, feeling ko eh nakasentro ka pagtingin mo sa logo. paparahin ka nya to go along the lines of the FIL and the AIRSOFT and then up to the bamboo AK and the AK flag in the background.

but that is just me. and i'm biased kasi ako ang gumawa

all in all tayong tatlo lang naman ni kom yarik ang nag present ng logo designed...
(i doubt bakit tahimik si kom alakdan... including kom vityaz... baka may ilalabas eto na mas maganda pa na design ... )
Bigay pa naman ng isang sakong bbs si ****** sa makagawa ng final logo...just kidding!

Gawa nalang tayo ng jpg files with different background(black, white and "#BD0F05")

Ok sana ang png pero di eto transparent sa lower IE browser...
