Hello, this is my first post on this forum!

I own a Kalash RK-01 (AKS-74UN) Full steel and Wood and I would like to change the hop-up bucking, I followed the disassembly guide the first time I did it and it worked fine, but I would rather not be taking out the pins near the gas tube if I dont have to, I fear it could wear them out and make the gun wobbly

Instead, I read somewhere that:
"-VFC has a killer gearbox mounted wich can be demounted as quickly as it gets. (basically take of p-grip, selector, push spring loaded hop-up forward & gearbox can be taken out) "

so is it possible to do this with the 74u ? Just pull the hop-up forward, and move the gearbox out so I can then take out the hop-up unit?

If it can be done, and if anyone has done it, I would greatly appreciate pics! This is my first ever AEG and im very new to airsoft. Thanks!

Ok, I hope it works but the 74u got a smaller gas tube, and I dont know if it gets in the way.

Anyway, Im going to try this later today, What is holding the gearbox into place?
Once I remove the pistol grip and the fire selector, is there anything else I need to think about?

Thanks

you need to take out the 2 small screws that hold the hop up assembly into place, take out the piece of plastic that pushes the hop chamber into the gearbox, then take out the big pin than holds the trunnion..

for reference you can search around here, theres a takedown guide for a Dboys/Kalash RK01 and RK02.. separate threads btw.. laugh.gif
