Hi, I really want to buy my first AK variant now....
(I dunno why, I just held one of my friends AK and got hooked) ...But I'm torn, I really want the "modern" looks of the AK74M and AK105, but recently, I saw the new Cyma 048's(AKM), Design is really awesome, It was different from TM style takedowns and has a metal hop up and 7mm bushings plus stamped steel receivers instead of the usual pot metal and a really nice pair of wood furniture to beat. The list of things on CYMA's new AKM made me appreciate the simplicity and beauty of the AK. The only question is... I can't find one review about this new gun from anyone in the internet. Looks may be impressive, but what about it's performance? I would also like to confirm, does the gearbox really have 7mm bushings?? Just in case I buy this gun, what accessories can I attach to it while maintaining the authenticity of the AKM. |

teka, correct me muna... is this an AKMN? "N" means meron side mount for attaching optics or other accessory like IR light...

Finally! I bought one from Tuks' shop(dinayo ko pa, galing pa ako UP; traffic is a killer)
since they were the only ones to have one(the AK74 version) in stock. I'll start doing a formal review tomorrow. Mukang okay naman in my first impressions, walang wobble, napaka solid ng construction niya. choronoed at 440 FPS average OTB, okay nmn ang FPS. I was starting to compare the RK03 and the CM.048, I let my dad choose one and he was firm on the CM.048, he was sold on the beautifully made laminated wood furniture. |

My Review(please comment, this is my first ever review on an AEG)
I first heard of the CM.048 on the forums and quickly asked my suki gunrunner if ever he has one in stock, when he heard this he just shook his head and said "I never heard of it before" The next week, I went to the nearest shop which is in tactical lab and saw the CM.048M which is the AKM version of CYMA's newest design of AK variants, I really wanted to buy that gun right now, but resisted the temptation, since I first got to do my "homework" on the gun first. This saturday, I went to Tuks' shop with my Dad and saw the AK74, even he was impressed to see gun and pressed me to buy the Cyma CM.048 instead of the kalash RK03. So I happily purchased the gun, alongside with some parts and a sling. Before leaving, I chonoed the gun and had a reading of 439FPS with .2 at it's highest and 433 at it's lowest. ![]() ![]() ![]() So... What is the CM.048? The CM.048 is the newest line of AK variants released by cyma that is a copy of the VFC AK design alongside with the Inokatsu Front assembly. The receiver is made out of stamped steel, alongside with the receiver top cover, cocking handle, selector, half of the gas tube, flashider and the butt plate; The rest is potmetal. The Butt itself and the whole handguard is made out of Laminated wood. The only plastic parts in the whole gun is the Pistol grip and Magazine. Internals are good. It has a Metal hop-up and rumors say It has a semi-tight barrel. It has a metal spring guide with bearings and has 7mm Gearbox, though it is not reinforced, the gearbox has a very nice black finish. Motor is really strong, when I disassembled the gun for the first time, I had a hard time separating the motor from the screws since the motor magnets are really strong. Spring is also really strong, It is comparable to a PDI190 spring and is in a glossy silver finish. ![]() First thing I did when I got back home Is to disassemble the gun to tune, lube and shim, and install the parts I bought. To remove the gearbox from the gun, you will only need a philips and allen screwdriver. Though It is the same from the Kalash Ak's since they are VFC clones, disassembly is slightly different. in the Hop-up area. The piston head had a slight airleak, so I replaced it with a Aluminum piston head with bearings, Though the gun has a metal spring guide with bearings already installed, I replaced it with deepfire's one instead since the stock bearings weren't smooth and looks brittle. I also replaced the stock 7mm Metal Bushings with King Arms 7mm bushings since I had those lying around the house and It has far better quality than the stock ones. I shimmed the gears in place and notices that the switch assembly was very wobbly, I noticed that a screw that should be there wasn't there, so I got my spare switch assy. screw and screwed it into place. I also installed a CA Airsealed nozzle which was far better the the tranparent, leaky nozzle. After cheking for Airleaks, the cylinder head and Hop-Up assy had excellent compression. the Piston head and nozzle had Airleaks. The design of the Hop-up chamber ensures that it has perfect alignment with the barrel always and is held in place by two screws. After putting it back together and installed the sling, firing it was heavenly to hear. The metallic click sound of the piston head with that perfectly rounded pop of air from the barrel indicating that it has perfect compression was overwhelming; My first Brand New AEG that I have bought was just perfect. I could never resist just staring at my gun and admire it's beauty. Also be informed that the selector plate tends to free itself loose. Putting a spacer and some super glue on it's screw will permanently take care of take. |

Ahhh...Cyma rules
komrad Blaze, chrono reading after the upgrades(tweak)? regarding the selector lever screw, small o-ring or small lock washer can do the job, don't put super glue or over tighten it, you can use your hand to (soft)tighten the screw at single mode then pull the lever upward.
