WTB: Russian Gas Mask, Looking for a GP-5, gray or black

Hi Komrads


I'm looking for a locally available GP-5 Russian Gas Mask. The gray one's pretty common although I have seen black ones floating around. I know they're really cheap on ebay and other online surplus shops, but I was hoping to get past the hassle of shipping.

I love and collect masks, although I might end up modding this for airsoft. Or I could just wear it around the house and spook the neighbors.

Hope you can help me out




Not sure if I'm just seeing things, but do some gas masks have a longer 'snout'? (not the hose, the actual front part of the mask)

always take into consideration the filter color... if its green its ok

if its a bit brownish, dont use it, asbestos is present in the brownish color filter...

My dad got an Israeli gas mask he's sending over from the states, I'll make sure to check the filter.

I hope I can find a Russian one though...

a friend of mine got a GP5 gasmask from his dad(circa 80's production), filter is brown
he says it came from Saudi, probably for use by civilians during the gulf war since Iraq has chemical weapons..

BTW, the mask isn't suitable for playing, the mask is made up of rubber, soft rubber..
and the lens i think cant protect you from BB impact..

The soft rubber bit does worry me, I'll see what I can do about it. As for the lens I'm probably going to do what the SAS impressionist boys are doing to their Avon masks, switch out the glass lens for polycarbon.

I guess I might have to go via ebay for this mask.

basta green color filter panalo yan.. safe to use yan
