I'm wondering if the part (encircle) in the front assembly of the of the upper hand guard is working to remove the hand guard assembly? is this only a dummy part?

screws under the receiver so that is probly a TM-compatible variant. if so, no, cosmetic lang sya. but you can disassemble the rear sight into its components.

to remove the handguard, find the grub screw under the gas tube junction. nasa ilalim ng outer barrel 'yang grub screw na 'yan. unscrew that and you can pull out the gas tube and the front and rear handguard retainers.

then you can change the handguards.
