as promised, here's the receiver part of the project commissioned by a fellow komrad.

first task was to rectify the receiver cover by giving it epoxy "ribs". tongue.gif

then, guided by enlarged pics of the romak receiver, the placement of reinforcement plates, mag dimples, and the scope plate was laid out:

measurements were then taken and cardboard templates made before the plates were cut from aluminum:

next major task was to mod the stock trunnion so that it will hold the wood stock firmly in place.

one of the tangs was removed and the central part of the trunnion filed to conform to the shape of the Romak stock. a steel screw nut was also reshaped . . . .

. . . so that it can sit inside the bottom part of the stock trunnion . . .

. . . while also embedded into the rear part of the receiver under the mek.

here is the stock retaining screw as it fits into the stock trunnion:

still unpainted, the receiver now has the proper mag dimples, reinforcement plates, and rivets. the receiver cover has the proper cut allowing for proper fit with the rear reinforcement plates, the bolt carrier has the right indent cut:

and the proper barrel pin block:

the barrel block still lacks the holes for the pin -- still trying to see how a pin (or maybe a small bolt) can be anchored on the block to add to overall structural rigidity. unsure.gif
