| CORRECTION!!! contrary to what i sed earlier, THERE ARE steel wool grades. verified this last friday at Ace Hardware in Makati. ... snip.... the ultra fine works best on painted parts, IMHO -- konting haplos lang, aus na. the fine is a bit too rough for my taste. and you have to be very careful not to rub it over the surface too long or too hard. apologies to komrad LS and to all komrads reading this thread: mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa i would imagine, kom LS, that there would be, somewhere out there, an rs AK with different colored parts. but haven't seen a pic of one, yet |

| kom LS, the yellow one i posted in an earlier pic, if you remember, is grade 0 -- fine. where did you buy your steel wool? i have found, btw, that the salepersons at mall hardware stores are not always knowledgeable about some products, so DO NOT always take their word for how things are. mas nakakaalam ung mga worker sa mga dedicated hardware shops. doing great, kom alakdan. hinay-hinay lang is the best way to go, i've found. ang hirap bawiin pag sumobra kung DIY paintjob preparatory to weathering, pinaka advisable ang maglatag ng base coat with a quality primer color. |
