I have just received mine , and have noticed as well on my CYMA AIMS O50 that the batteries do not enter into the gaz tube because of the electric cable

I just got one, the AK74 variant (cm48 without the "m")

overall the gun is nice. i won't delve on the internals because its basically the same with the AKM variant.

I just have some gripes with the externals:

1. My bakelite mags, and even the one that came with the AEG wobbles a bit. It appears that Cyma designed the gun to fit metal mags. Metal mags are ok, if your cm48 is the akm variant, but it is not ok for the ak74 variant. I had to put some "spacers" to obtain a snug fit.

2. The butt plate is flat and smooth. I would love it more if the butt plate has ridges because that will be the right one fot the ak74. I would also love it more if they put a "trapdoor" like the rk06.

3. The groove on the buttstock (the one that is supposed to indicate if the gun is 5.45 or 7.62) is a little bit "short".

4. The "lines" on the woodkit feels/looks weird. I like the rk06 woodkit better because its looks/feels more realistic, having seen/held an rs ak.

5. waaah, my bayonet cannot "lock" on the cm 48 like it does on my guarder ak 103 and kalash rk03

These minor kinks aside, I am happy with the gun.

yeah kom anubis the mag well seems a little wide or a little long.
needs some getting use to. mag must be inserted slowly and you gotta observe
well how it properly locks the mag.
once the mag locks on well it's good to go.

my CA and JG ak's have no problem on mag insertion
even when I'm in a big hurry to replace my mag.

Once you're in the field the CM-048 might create some problem when
the mag is improperly inserted so again it just needs
some getting use to. Some modding on the mag well might help though.

Alencore Rambo,

I thinking I am going to upgrade the cylinder head to this gun, do you know what version is it. Also, how do you do the corner cutting technique? Can you make a guide or something, I think everybody is interested and appreciate it.

Alencore Rambo- 07-12-2009
in my experience no need to change the cylinder head unless you're planing to install an sp160 spring or higher. just seal it properly and it will do just fine.

the corner cutting technique is vey easy to do once youhave those so called needle files especially the
circular one. but this technique ain't full proof as once the gb reached it's breaking point it will still crack on those corners. but don't worry version 3 gb is tougher it will last long enough.

Finally solve the mag insertion problem.
All I did was thicken the front lip part of mag.
It's the part near the opening where you pour the bb's in.
Just thicken that part if the mag tends to mis-attach when you kinda
pushed-up back to make the mag catch lock the mag
properly.

The modded mag lip (for lack of a better term) still fits on my CA slr ak74
it even made a firmer fit. If it fits well on my CA slr which is basically a tm clone
receiver it will definitely fit on my old JG ak47.

Also this ak is choosy on mags. My newer ribbed type cyma mag doesn't really fit unless
I mod the bb stopper of the mag. Yet my HLK drum mag fits really well no modding needed
and doesn't slide down when inserting. The cyma ak74 mag also fits well.

Btw - tnx to Komrad Marino for letting me work on his ak hehe.

just use epoxy for this mod and simply shave it to shape.
